#leveragelove4

Before we go into the post I wanted to send a huge thank you to Vinita and Poseidon Brewery for nominating Dog Days Search and Rescue and pledging to match $5 per #leveragelove4 post. AND...a big thank you to Nug and Family (@curly.n.mags.corner) for a bonus $50 donation!

#leveragelove began after seeing the popular dog shaming signs on social media. Since we believe strongly in positivity we thought we would flip the idea into sharing positive messages about our furry family members. We've run 4 #leveragelove campaigns, #leveragelove, #leveragelove2, and #leveragelove3 as awareness and fundrasiers for different organizations. We've also been lucky enough to have the campaign featured in popular sites like the Dodo and the Chive and in a short interview on the Dogslife.co. Our first campaigns combined to raise just over $2500 and #leveragelove4 brought in $700 after we donated $350 and Poseidon Brewery matched post for post with us for $350.

Vinita from Poseidon Brewery nominated the recipient for the $700 donation - Dog Days Search and Rescue(DDSAR) based in Simi Valley, CA. Here is a little about DDSAR and why we chose to send the donation to them:

"Dog Days Search and Rescue's experienced team not only has the passion and drive for search and rescue but they also have the skills! Our exclusive team specializes in helping owners bring their pets home safely, along with catching and saving stray, neglected or abandoned pets in need. Using the latest equipment and technology we will conduct search and rescues in a professional and compassionate manner.

As a non-profit organization, Dog Days Rescue depends on your generosity. All funds donated are used to defray the direct costs of the dogs we rescue. Those costs include spaying, neutering, inoculations, veterinary care, food, grooming and training. Because we take dogs into our program without consideration of age or medical condition, our veterinary bills are high. We guarantee that each dollar you donate will be used to help the dogs."

It was a quick 2 weeks and there were so many amazing posts that were shared. We love the positivity and all the stories that are a testament to all the amazing things are dogs do for us every day. Here are some of the posts shared during the campaign:

From @mutts_in_suburbia ・・・ We got Marla in 2014 from a rescue called @mikeyschance in Eastern WA. At the time, despite having many dogs amongst our extended family and having had a (small) dog recently, my daughter Leah was terrified of all large or fast-moving dogs. Marla's goofy antics and zillion face licks helped her to love dogs and now Leah is teaching our scared neighbor kids to love dogs too. Marla is an oddball in many ways, but we love and accommodate her quirks, and she provides an endless source of laughter and connection for our family. She also inspired me to become a rescue supporter - we later fostered and adopted Dottie, have short-term fostered another pup (with plans to do more), and have donated to many rescue causes. Thanks Marla!!!! ❤ @cjiro 's #leveragelove4 campaign is going on through to raise money and awareness for @dogdayssar - Dog Days Search and Rescue is a non-profit that focuses on helping owners find their lost and missing pets. They also help place animals they find if an owner can't be determined. From now until August 12 @poseidonbrewingco and @rescuestrongsupplyco will each donate $5 per #leveragelove4 post. Rescue Strong will stop at $500, but Poseidon Brewing has no cap! To participate: 1. Make a positive sign about what your pup does for you. 2. Tag @poseidonbrewingco, @rescuestrongsupplyco, and @cjiro in the photo 3. Write a post about your sign and backstory and use the hashtag #leveragelove4 4. That's it! Let's raise some money for @dogdayssar and share what our furry family members do for us.

From my favorite nugget : @curly.n.mags.corner ・・・ "Progress is not achieved by luck or accident, but by working on yourself daily." -Epictetus Nug puts in work on the reg and she's a constant reminder that hard work is necessary if you want to make progress 🐥. She came to us almost 3 years ago from @itsthepitsdogrescue. They took a chance on this lil' shelter nugget who had all the odds stacked against her (black "pitbull" with a medical condition). In her 3 years with us, she's made tremendous progress. At first, she was scared to go out the front door or go for walks or car rides, she'd have accidents galore in the house, and loved snacking on 💩🙊outside or anything else that happened to be lying around inside the house (to name a few hurdles). Daily work has Nug living a happy life. She's excited to go for walks and rides in the car and I no longer have to supervise her after she goes to the bathroom outside 🤗😅. She's a work in progress, but aren't we all? 💕 Share your pup's story for the #leveragelove4 campaign ⬇️⬇️ 🔹@cjiro's #leveragelove4 begins now to raise money and awareness for a wonderful organization - @dogdayssar. Dog Days Search and Rescue is a non-profit that focuses on helping owners find their lost and missing pets. They also help place animals they find if an owner can't be determined. From @zoomie_apocalypse ・・・ I've always wanted to do a #LeverageLove post. We love @cjiro and all that he does for the rescue community while being the most talented and most modest human we've ever seen. I never could summarize all that Zoe is in one picture, so here is a montage of sorts of what I want to be when I grow up! Zoe is many ways more mature than I am - she always has a tail wag no matter how boring her day has been; she knows how to have fun; she knows when to be serious and watch out for Mommy; she is patient and humors me and my desire to dress her up; she know the importance of rest and exercise; she has a healthy curiosity and eagerness to try something new; she loves everyone and is never upset if she comes across someone who doesn't care for her! Her spirit is buoyant and she always knows how to make people smile. She effortlessly makes non-dog-people into dog-crazy humans; she is clever and smart; she is gorgeous but totally oblivious of it! She came to me when she was 1.5 years old - she was a stray before. I don't know what kind of a life she had before then, but she never makes me wonder, 'cause with her every day is a new day and there are no carry-overs or grudges! She fills my life with love, she is happy with whatever I can offer, she loves me without question and reminds me that life is beautiful! Please head on over to @cjiro 's profile to know more about what the #leveragelove4 campaign is all about! ❤️

From @sliceofcountrylife ・・・ 💙Freddie turned 12 last month, but when he was 21/2 he spent 8 scary days in the emergency clinic. They gave him lousy odds at beating the autoimmune disease that he had developed. Every day we visited him and said our goodbyes. Thankfully, our boy survived that nightmare. He lost a toe to cancer last year and has other issues that he deals with, but our happy lad is still here! He truly is the meaning of Every Day is a Gift. We never take that for granted. Hug your pups tight today in honour of #leveragelove4 & the fundraiser for @dogdayssar Thank you @cjiro @rescuestrongsupplyco & @poseidonbrewingco for this awesome campaign. #cookiesneededforthispic #alotofcookies #adoptdontshop #adoptseniordogs #adoptastray #seniordogsrock #olddogsrule #frostedfaces #icouldntlovehimmore

From @hesjustaboyd ・・・ #leveragelove4 ❤️ Our dog obsessed community often shares photos of our dogs "helping" us with so many of life's tasks, be it mundane or enjoyable. It can be cooking dinner, as they eat fallen food scraps. Or vacuuming, we all know the big bad floor sucker doesn't hurt us because doggo is ready to attack in our honor! Even farts, the sulphur is supposed to be good for us right? That's TOOTS why they stinker. Point being, they bring so much joy to our lives no matter what is going on! Boyd has no idea the way he impacts and "helps" our @faceanimalclinic fosters. He alerts me when one seems restless or needs something. He plays gently so that they can be socialized and placed in home with large dogs. He helps me find them when they are running about, not wanting to go back into their playpen. He cuddles with them when they need a warm body, and licks them just because he wants to express his presence. 🐶🐱 For this I feel lucky, and proud to call Boyd my dog-my best friend. He teaches me to make the most of every moment, and he MAKES me feel this overwhelming, meaningful purpose in life. 🐾 Each #leveragelove4 (use the hashtag and all tagged accounts below) post is a $5 donation to the outstanding @dogdayssar from @poseidonbrewingco and @rescuestrongsupplyco! Special thanks to my IG ohana bro, @cjiro :::tips hat and does a curtesy or something neat like that::: 🐾

I'M HAVING A FANBOY MOMENT. From @thewhitestpupsyouknow: Most of you already know but my dogs are literally my life. I fight with social anxiety and depression and have for years. I didn't even get my license til the age of 23 because my anxiety made me terrified of driving. When I finally did get it, it was thanks to Beebs sitting in the car with me helping me calm down so I could actually practice. Fast forward 5 years later and I still hate it. In all honesty, I haven't even driven in months...maybe even a year. I've gone back to my old ways of letting my anxiety control my life again. Thanks to the pups and my amazing friends (Manya and Lauren, THANK YOU), I'm slowly starting to get back out there again. The dogs give me a reason to get my butt back out there and try new & scary things even if I really don't want to and I love them for it. "The struggle you are in today is developing the strength for tomorrow." 🖤 • Want to help raise some funds for an awesome organization, @dogdayssar, just by posting photos of your dogs? Now is your chance! Our amazing friend @cjiro (the brilliant and kind soul behind @rescuestrongsupplyco) is running his Leverage Love campaign for the fourth time! From now until Aug 12th, Rescue Strong & Poseidon Brewing Co will donate $5 per post to @dogdayssar. (Rescue Strong will cap at $500 but Poseidon has no cap!) To help, all you gotta do is post a photo of your pup with a sign that explains what your pup does for you. Write in the caption the backstory for your sign. Tag @poseidonbrewingco, @rescuestrongsupplyco, and @cjiro in the post and use the hashtag #leveragelove4. That's it!

😭 from @tarasfostersaz: What can I say about Grandpa 🖤 I do believe it was no accident he came into my life. At the time, I was more than struggling with a real shift in my life. People who I believed loved and supported me unconditionally, turned their backs on me after I struggled through a year long depression after losing a foster dog. I was having an extremely difficult time letting it go and moving on. I thought I was finally overcoming the crippling loss I endured, just to be knocked down even lower than I started. It was even starting to effect my health. That's about when Grampy showed up. I wasn't looking for a fourth dog, but when I saw him I knew he had to be a part of our family. When I picked up Grandpa, I was a bit put off. He had pretty terrible skin infections, and was much thinner than I had thought from his photo. His ears look like they have had so many repeated infections they are scarred like cauliflower ears fighters get. His nose was terribly crusty and his breath could knock someone to the ground. He had the remnants of a ligature mark around his neck, and his long nails would click on the ground. But even with the clear signs of a not so pretty past, he woke up each day with a "pittie smile" on his face and an attitude that proved his past did not define him. When it became hard for me to let go of mine, Gramps encouraged me to stop wasting my energy on the things I can't change, and be happy in the moment. I thank my nasty old man every day for the lessons he's given me. #leveragelove4 #rescuefamily #whorescuedwho @cjiro To participate: From now until August 12th @poseidonbrewingco and @rescuestrongsupplyco will each donate $5 per #leveragelove4 post. From @pearl.the.poi.puppy ・・・ "Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend" - Martin Luther King Jr. • Ok maybe Pearl wasn't Pebble's enemy but these girls haven't always seen eye to eye... in fact, surprisingly, Pearl has the distinction of being the first dog Pebble hasn't happily welcomed into our home and family. Pearl is boisterous and unpredictable which can be incredibly unnerving for our other dogs, especially because she can't see or hear their warning cues when she has crossed their boundaries. BUT! Through love, patience, and advocacy (we have learned to bridge the gap of communication by showing the other dogs that we advocate for them and protect them when Pearl is "too much."), these two girls have become the best of walking buddies and are slowly becoming anytime friends too. They both greet each other with tail wags and occasional face licks and a teensy little sprinkle of... love. #leveragelove4 🖤👯 • Our ABSOLUTE favorite Instagram campaign is happening right now and we want you to participate! From now until August 12, @rescuestrongsupplyco and @poseidonbrewingco will each donate $5 per #leveragelove4 post to @dogdayssar! Our pups have 8 posts planned to share with you and to help raise money for Dog Days Search and Rescue which is an incredible organization that helps owners find their lost and missing pets, and helps place animals if an owner can't be found. Head over to @cjiro to see how to participate. Can't wait to see your posts!

From @lexiethepocketpittie ・・・ You know it sounds so cheesy when someone says "my dog rescued me". Cheesy or not this is pretty much the case for me haha! At a very young age I had already began to take on a path of self destruction. I had no self worth and I didn't care about myself or my life nevertheless how my actions affected anybody else. I could only socialize with others if I was drinking heavily. Most of my early years I do not recall because I would heavily sedate myself with alcohol. I sometimes cannot believe how ungrateful and selfish my way of living was. It wasn't until I was 23 years old that I was awakened(cheesy I know lol). Thats right you guessed it... @lexiethepocketpittie came into my life. This little dog has taught me so much! Because of her I am more patient, I am loving, compassionate, altruistic. Because of her I have advocated for other unwanted dogs just like her and have helped find them forever homes. Because of her I have learned not to hate myself or be so critical when I make mistakes in life. Mistakes are a part of life, they are unavoidable. What matters is how I am going to move on and learn from them. How can a dog that has such a bad rap and hate, following them around like a dark cloud on a rainy day be so happy and full of sunshine. How can a dog that was left to rot outside in a pile of trash by humans be so loving to everyone she meets? It's like everything was black and white before Lexie arrived into my life and now there is color. #LeverageLove4
